CPTPP WORK PERMITS OVERVIEW.

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is a free trade agreement between 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

With CPTPP Work Permit, it focuses on facilitating the movement of people for business purposes. This includes provisions for temporary entry and stay for business persons, including the ability to obtain work permits.

The 11 countries currently involved in the CPTPP are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

CPTPP for Business Vistors.

A CPTPP Business Investor engages in permissible activities, such as business meetings, market research, or negotiating contracts for business purposes in Canada for a maximum initial period of six months.

Also, they have their primary source of remuneration outside of Canada and maintain their principal place of business and predominant place of profit accrual outside of Canada.

The business visitors category of the CPTPP remains open to citizens of all countries that have ratified the agreement.

CPTPP for Intra-Company Transferees.

A CPTPP Intra-Company Transferee is a business person who receives a temporary work permit to get transferred within their company to Canada for work purposes.

They must be employed by an enterprise in one of the CPTPP countries (excluding Singapore and Vietnam) to provide services to a parent entity, subsidiary, or affiliate of the company in Canada.

 

Other than that, they must hold executive, managerial, specialist, or management trainee positions in their home country and are seeking to render similar services in Canada.

CPTPP for Professionals.

A CPTPP Professional receives an IMP employment offer in a field that necessitates a specialized knowledge base's theoretical and practical use.

The CPTPP includes stipulations for the short-term admission of professionals and the preliminary duration of stay is set at 1 year.

CPTPP for Technicians.

A CPTPP Technician secures an IMP job offer in a field that demands both theoretical and practical application of specialized knowledge.

The CPTPP has clauses that permit the short-term admission of technical experts and the starting duration of the stay is one year.

CPTPP for Investors.

A CPTPP Investor has a substantial amount of capital to invest in a business or enterprise in their desired destination.

This means that the individual must have a clear plan and commitment to investing a substantial.

These investors are either the owner of the enterprise committing the funds or an employee in a supervisory or executive role. 

Core Benefits of CPTPP Work Permit.

The CPTPP Work Permit offers easier movement of skilled workers between member countries, providing them with increased access to job opportunities.

Under the CPTPP, 11 member countries have agreed to streamline their visa processes for temporary work permits. This makes it easier and faster for skilled workers to obtain work permits, saving them time and effort.

Limitations of CPTPP Work Permit.

There are limitations to the CPTPP Work Permit:

 

The CPTPP work permit is only applicable to skilled workers from 11 member countries. This means that citizens from non-member countries will not benefit from the streamlined visa processes and other protections provided under this agreement.

The CPTPP work permit is only valid for a specific time frame, usually ranging from one to three years. After this period, the worker must either return to their home country or go through an extensive visa renewal process.
