OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

Changes to OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

In the past, the OINP's Employer Job Offer: International Student stream allowed candidates holding a one-year credential from an eligible institution to apply only if their program necessitated the completion of a degree as an admission prerequisite. This limitation has now been lifted.

With this newly introduced modification, the OINP will now accept applications from students of any one-year college program that bestows an Ontario College Graduate Certificate upon its graduates.

This change represents a significant expansion in the number of certificate programs that qualify for the OINP. More international students graduating from a wider range of programs will now be able to apply for permanent residency under this stream, opening up more opportunities for them to contribute to Ontario's economic and social landscape.

This policy alteration came into effect at the beginning of 2024, specifically on January 1st. It's important to note that this does not affect individuals who had already submitted an application prior to this date. Their applications will be processed according to the rules and regulations that were in place at the time of submission.

The Eligible Universities Have Also Been Revised

Moreover, the list of educational institutions deemed eligible under this stream has also undergone revisions. These changes aim to ensure that the program continues to meet the evolving needs of Ontario's labour market and the aspirations of international students wishing to make Ontario their permanent home.
